1. Is this app therapy or medical treatment?
No. Hold the Chat Line is an educational and wellness tool. It helps you practice coping skills inspired by DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy). It is not a substitute for therapy, medical advice, or professional care.
2. What should I do if I am in crisis?
If you are in danger or feel like you may harm yourself:
Call your local emergency number (e.g., 911 in the U.S.).
In the U.S., you can also dial 988 for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
If you’re outside the U.S., please use the crisis resources available in your country.
The app is designed to redirect you to crisis resources, but it cannot provide emergency help.
3. What personal data do you collect?
We collect only the basics needed to run the app:
Your email and password (if you create an account).
Skills or resources you save as favorites.
Anonymous app usage data (so we can see what’s helpful).
We do not sell your data or show ads. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.
4. How do I reset my password?
On the login screen, tap “Forgot Password?” and follow the instructions to reset your password.
5. How do I delete my account?
Send us an email at hello@holdthechatline.com from the email address linked to your account.
We will delete your account and all associated data.
6. What devices are supported?
Hold the Chat Line works on most iPhones and iPads running iOS 15 or later.
7. How do I share feedback or report a bug?
